VHS to DVD

The standard video tape transfer is copied on the highest quality DVD discs. Transfer onto a hard drive as an .avi file is available if that’s your preferred method of archiving and can be done at our Denver, Colorado location.

The standard video tape transfer DVD service will play on DVD players and computer DVD drives.

If you are looking to edit your media the .avi format is the process needed.  This is a high quality digital file transfer from the tape provided.  For this process an external hard drive is required.  You can either bring a personal hard drive or VHM can purchase one for you and add the cost to the project cost.

If you’re looking to share your videos on the web or wish to back them up with a cloud service Windows Media or an other compressed file type is recommended.  .Avi files are large (about 12GB per hour of footage) so a Windows Media file (about .12GB per hour) is more efficient when transmitting via the Internet.
